Shifters, Vampires and Greek Gods. Oh My!

Please welcome today’s guest host, Ciara Lake!

Hello SJ, I’m Ciara Lake, it’s very nice to be a guest on your blog.

As a child, I enjoyed the study of mythology. The stories of the Greek gods, the Titans and other legends always fascinated me. Then I started reading vampire and shifter stories. I was always amazed by their special powers as well as their conflict with good and evil. Another theme I like to read is undying love. Mates who are meant to be forever true to one another. I guess I like this particularly because in my world I work with divorcing couples. It is nice in the world of fiction to have love that lasts, love which truly connects two people together.

The first book I wrote, The Triaxen was about an alien. I wrote a story where the hero has similar qualities to a vampire such as speed, strength, longevity, and a bite that can kill. He also struggles with good and evil, choices he has and will need to make. But, Krevan Vallex is not a vampire. He’s a Triaxen from the planet Triaxe. My plan is to write additional stories to follow up on The Triaxen with more of these interesting and powerful aliens. The next one will be about Krevan’s brother Kurvec Vallex, so stay tuned.

Xihirah and The Ketchikan Man are books about shifters. The Ketchikan Man takes place in Alaska. It’s a short story about a bear shifter.

In Xihirah the shifters are aliens on a jungle world of Xihirah. I have another book ready to submit to Siren for the next in this series, Xihirian shifters. I’ve titled it Tallusian Nights. I hope to submit this manuscript this month. There is much to do to get a book ready to submit. I have learned so much and things take time.

Now I am writing books in the Forsaken series with Elise Whyles. My first book is Curse of the Dragon’s Claim, Forsaken series book 2. In this series, I am able to use shifters, vampires, Greek gods, Titans, Norse gods and more. My imagination has gone wild with weaving together these fascinating immortals. Elise and I have had a wonderful time coming up with the various stories, which stretch over centuries of time. Yep, there is time travel in these stories too. This is the reason I love science fiction, fantasy and paranormal, all things are possible. There are no limits. Why be limited when it’s make believe?

My next book in the Forsaken series is Forsaken Norse Wind. It is about a troll who was once a Viking warrior, Axel Venrick. Yes, he is a troll. However, this troll can be sexy incarnate. I changed up the rules a bit for trolls. Axel is very talented, intelligent, fierce and bold. In this series, trolls are the artisans of the immortal world. When Axel does not have his troll like façade on, he is a gorgeous and romantic lover to his mate, Breanna Devion. Breanna is mortal, a Forsaken, he saves from a bad situation living in her stepfather’s home. You will have to read the series to understand what it is to be a Forsaken.

Currently, I am working on Forsaken Waves of Time, it is a modern day story set in Vancouver, Washington. Jax Aquilla is a Merman, the son of Poseidon, a demigod who will more heaven and earth for his mate, Tabitha Lock, a lawyer, a Forsaken, who has a very special gift. She sees the truth.

I am about to look for a publishing home for my other series about angels among us. The series is called Son’s of Aiden with the first book, An Angel for Avery. Avery bought an ornament, which held a guardian angel imprisoned by an evil enemy. The book is set in Maine. I have completed the initial manuscript I just need to polish it before I decide where to submit it. Wish me luck!

So, if you like adventure, science fiction, wild imagination, fantasy, the paranormal, and undying love please enjoy my stories. You can find me at:

Curse of a Dragon’s Claim: The Forsaken Series, Book 2
By Ciara Lake
Blurb
The flame within a dragon warrior’s heart awakens Arianna’s passion as she begins a journey in which she will discover she’s something more than she ever imagined possible.

The realm of the dragons is a world of magic, danger, and mystery. For centuries they’ve been at war with the vampires, but now the two enemies must work together to save all immortals, and the mortals they co-exist with, from an ancient evil. In order to do so, they need the help of the Forsaken, descendants of immortals who were cast out into the human realm, their memories wiped clean of their true heritage.

Clayne MacDagon is a powerful dragon warrior who is sent on a mission to find one of the Forsaken. Although he’s told that this woman is his fated mate, he can’t believe it could possibly be true. Arianna Mergliano possesses both dragon and vampire blood, and Clayne has an intense hatred for anything even remotely related to vampires, the evil beings who were responsible for his beloved twin’s death.

When Arianna meets Clayne, she’s convinced that the man is insane, or maybe he’s a warlock or even the devil himself, but whichever it is, she wants nothing to do with him.

Clayne knows he can’t fail at his mission. And once he meets Arianna he also knows that what he’s been told is true—she is, ironically, his intended mate.

Convincing her to accept him is only the beginning. He has to protect her from those who might want her dead. Together, they must face the shadows and evil that have long plagued the immortal realms and find a way to survive the coming war.
